We Volunteer to Help Non-Profits  in Our Communities

Typically our members will volunteer more than 4,000 hours each year to many non-profit organizations in our communities. You’ll see League members at A Place of Hope, Phoenix Center, Elder Care Fair, The Boys and Girls Club, Burnet County Child Welfare, The Helping Center, St. Vincent de Paul and at many other area charities.

We Provide Grants to Area
Non-Profit Organizations

The HLSL provides financial support to local 501(c)(3) agencies so they might better meet these needs and make a real difference in the lives of others. Money raised from our fundraisers enable us to do just that. The Annual Community Grant Process begins in June with a deadline of August 31st . Funds are presented to selected agencies at our November Meeting.

We Fundraise to Provide Scholarships to Adult Women

Scholarships are offered to adult women returning to school to complete their education and or certification in pursuit of their career goals. In 2023 we awarded fourteen scholarships to area residents. Scholarship applications need to be submitted by April 15th and are awarded at our May Meeting.

We Host a Special Needs Christmas Party

This event holds a special place in our hearts. Members, dressed in red along with Santa hats, make sure our friends in the special needs community have a very Merry Christmas. The party, free to all attending, includes lunch, music, dancing, face painting, crafts and other fun events for our guests. And the best part … a visit from Santa!
