Scholarships

 

Highland Lakes Service League offers scholarships to adult women who live and work in Burnet or Llano Counties and are returning to school to complete their education and/or certification in pursuit of their career goals. Scholarship applications are accepted in the spring and awarded at our May meeting.

Since inception of the program, HLSL has awarded 100 Scholarships totaling $285,785 to women determined to improve their lives through education.  Last year alone, $65,935 was awarded!

 

Criteria:

  • Application must include a resume, all transcripts and current GPA
  • Applicant must be enrolled in an educational institution and have a student ID# at the time of application
  • Not available to high school seniors
  • If selected, applicant must interview with the Scholarship Committee and agree to the use of her photo and contact information for the HLSL’s promotion of the scholarship program
  • If applicant previously received a scholarship award from HLSL, she must include an explanation of how the funds were spent and what was accomplished
  • Applications are accepted beginning in the spring of each year and must be received by April 15th
